NASA targets a 2027 Artemis III Earth-orbit test and an early 2028 Artemis IV Moon landing.

Artemis III is planned as a roughly 14-day mission to test Orion’s rendezvous and docking with Blue Origin and SpaceX lander test vehicles. Its crew is Randy Bresnik, Frank Rubio, Andre Douglas and Luca Parmitano. It is not a lunar landing mission.

For Artemis IV, NASA’s mission page targets early 2028: four astronauts would travel to lunar orbit, with two spending about a week on the surface. NASA says neither lander provider is currently assigned to a specific lunar landing mission. Artemis II completed its crewed lunar flyby in April 2026. These dates are targets, not guarantees.
