Colorado mountain snow forecast now includes higher chances of heavier totals in some high elevations.
The Weather Prediction Center’s Nov. 4, 07:18 UTC discussion forecasts a 50–70% chance of more than 8 inches above 10,000 feet in Colorado’s mountains, versus its previous 50–70% chance of more than 6 inches. For Sawatch and Mosquito peaks, the stated chance of more than 12 inches rose from 10–30% to 20–50%. The forecast windows overlap but are not identical, so the figures are not an exact like-for-like comparison.
For the same system, the heaviest snow remains likely Wednesday evening, Nov. 4, ending before sunrise Thursday. Local mountain passes could have hazardous travel; the forecast remains probabilistic. The discussion covers 12 UTC Nov. 4 to 12 UTC Nov. 7 and was about six hours old when checked.
